Contraindications Hypersensitivity
Precautions 1. Reduce dose in elderly
2. Hepatic impairment
3. Not an antidote to heparin
5. Can cause haemolysis in patients with G-6-PD
6. Increased risk of severe haemolytic anaemia in neonates after large doses
7. Premature neonates weighing < 2.5 kg
8. Pregnancy
Adverse Effects 1. Hypersensitivity reactions
2. Hypotension and respiratory or
a circulatory collapse which may be due to polyethoxylated castor oil surfactant in some
injection formulations rather than due to phytomenadione
