Mechanism of Action Clobazam is known as potentiation of GABAergic neurotransmission resulting from binding at a benzodiazepine site at the GABA(A) receptor
Indications Clobazam is used for
1. Add-on for refractory partial, complex and
generalized seizures,
2. Add-on in West syndrome, LGS, myoclonic epilepsy, absence seizures, to cover a short period of increased seizure susceptibility addition of new AED examinations overnight travel catamenial epilepsy,
3. Intermittent prophylaxis in febrile seizures.
