Contraindications | 1. In recent haemorrhage; trauma; or surgery 2. Coagulation defects 3. Bleeding diatheses 4. Aortic dissection 5. Coma 6. History of cerebrovascular disease 7. Recent symptoms of possible peptic ulceration 8. Heavy vaginal bleeding 9. Severe hypertension 10. Active pulmonary disease with cavitation 11. Acute pancreas 12. Pericarditis 13. Bacterial endocarditis 14. Severe liver disease and oesophageal varices |
Precautions | 1. Should be used with caution if there is a risk of bleeding including that from venepuncture or invasive procedures 2. They should also be used with caution in external chest compression 3. Pregnancy 4. Elderly 5. Hypertension 6. Abdominal aneurysm 7. Diabetic renopathy |
