Contraindications1. Avoided in gastrointestinal obstruction and
myasthenia gravis
2. Closed-angle glaucoma
3. Chronic pulmonary disease
4. Sick sinus syndrome
5. Thyrotoxicosis
6. Tachycardia
Precautions 1. Use with caution in cardiovascular disease,
hypertension
2. Psychotic disorders,prostatic hypertrophy, pyrexia, in those susceptible to angle-closure glaucoma and in the elderly
3. It should not be withdrawn abruptly in patients receiving long-term treatment.
4. Anmuscarinics are liable to abuse.
5. Elderly males with possible prostate
hypertrophy
6. Tardive dyskinesia
7. Neuroleptic malignant syndrome
