Contraindications 1. Hypersensitivity to nitrates
2. Hypotensive conditions and hypovolaemia
3. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
4. Aortic stenosis
5. Cardiac tamponade
6. Constrictive pericarditis
7. Mitral stenosis
8. Marked anaemia
9. Glaucoma
10. Obstructive cardiomyopathy
11. Raised intracranial pressure.
Precautions 1. Hypothyroidism
2. Malnutrition
3. Hypothermia
4. Head trauma
5. Cerebral haemorrhage
6. Gastrointestinal disease
7. Recent history of
myocardial infarction
8. Hypoxaemia or other
ventilation and perfusion abnormalities
9. Susceptibility to angle-closure glaucoma
